Basically collect 2 chests, do 2 bounties and 2 hearts and you have your ascended back. Unless you for some reason really struggle to find a group/bounty train for the bounties, this takes very little time and most importantly, it is free. Using the mystic forge to forge any of the backpacks there is anything but free.

As an FYI, the new stats are not available on stat-selectable exotic / ascended gear as of today. Only legendary gear at the moment. If you're getting EoD for Harbinger, then you don't need to wait for Ritualist gear to go on the TP, you can just obtain the gear yourself. It will also be cheaper that way.

Don't be afraid of getting into stuff. You can get ascended gear drom PvP and WvW but it requires some effort. Ascended trinkets are easy to get from Fractals scales 1-20. Most open world content doesn't give ascended so if you're into open world content like raids or strikes where you can join trainings, you can get ascended gear easily. The easiest/quickest ascended gear collections from all three expansions. Caladbolg Reforged (Knight of the Thorn sub-quest after Heart of Thorns Storyline): Dagger, Scepter, Sword, Shield, Greatsword By obtaining the first, you get a chance to swap them into the other versions at will with stat-reset option. The only things you cannot stat swap are trinkets (backpiece, accessories, rings, amulet). Elite specialization collections are great ways to get cheap (around 50 gold, usually) ascended weapons. That's basically what crafting an asc weapon costs. Leveling to 500 isn't that expensive.
The best and really only way to guarantee quick and reliable and FULL ascended is through crafting, everything else (besides a few achieve ascends) is random, aka unreliable. This is IMO, if u want to wait for teq to drop all your ascended gear/weps, that’s on you and good luck. 2.
